About Us
We are proudly Australian made and owned.
At Freehand Creations, we have a sharp eye for quality and detail. Every blade we touch—whether we’re manufacturing, maintaining, or restoring—is handled with the highest care and craftsmanship.
We run educational workshops, service and supply restaurants, custom-make knives for cooking, camping, and work environments, and also create our own range of handcrafted leather products.
Our Team
Ajax
The passion began with a pocket knife on their grandfather’s farm, and later grew into a love for straight razors during their teenage years. The first knife was made in high school metalwork class.
Early experience in blade manufacturing came from producing hairdressing scissors on a large scale. During this time, they began experimenting with knives in their spare time; a passion that steadily grew into a career. Over the years, they've worked on more than 40,000 blades, developing a deep understanding of the weight, geometry, and materials that bring a blade to life.
After moving on from scissors, Ajax began designing and crafting custom kitchen knives as a hobby. As demand grew, that hobby evolved into a full-time pursuit, and the dream of manufacturing high-quality handmade blades on a larger scale became a reality; one that continues to fuel the passion every day.
Tash
Being the driving force behind a business is no easy task, but Tash takes the challenge head on.
Before joining Freehand, she worked in an advisory role with countless businesses across Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula. Now, she’s our business liaison, marketing extraordinaire, and the person keeping everything on schedule.
Tash makes sure production stays on track, manages timelines, and often helps out in the workshop with assembly. She’s also likely the first person you’ll speak to when getting in touch.
Alongside all this, Tash leads our leatherworking department. She’s completed a number of large-scale projects, and has a real knack for solving practical problems in aesthetically beautiful ways.
